How The Iron Claw Made Big Babies of the Von Erich Muscle Bros
The Iron Claw’s distinctive costumes succinctly capture the strange dichotomy of these world-class athletes, who are simultaneously stuck in arrested development, and forced to grow up fast under the suffocating pressures of masculinity and patriarchal Americana. Of course, credit is due to the enormous undertaking from costume designer Jennifer Starzyk, who estimates there were around 60 costume changes for Efron alone, many of which were drawn from actual clothes worn by the Von Erichs.
'Reminiscence'
So when the resident femme fatale of “Reminiscence” arrives in the form of Rebecca Ferguson’s sultry, markedly sad jazz singer Mae, clad in a spectacular, body-conscious crimson-red gown that could disarm any lethal human in its presence, you know she won’t be up to any good... Billie's storm cloud effect shirt with a neon trim paired with shorts and neckerchief is inventive, while the Doc Martens boots are a classic finishing touch.
